Dis-connected memories
Acrylic on paper. Wood.
2024
This series emerges from lived experiences in Southeast Asia, where color becomes a vehicle for memory. Drawing from a personal photographic archive, the artist extracts tones and shades that encapsulate moments, spaces, and emotions. Far from being static, color acts as a bridge between past and present, revealing how memories shift over time.
I also introduces wood as a new medium, exploring its materiality in relation to color and its ability to carry the imprint of time. Thus, the work extends beyond the image, acquiring a physical dimension that reinforces the intersection between color, memory, and transformation
