Nuria González Alcaide (Barcelona, ES) is an abstract visual artist whose practice revolves around painting, with a focus on paper, textiles, wood, and installation as part of her research. Her work investigates color from theoretical, sensory, and visual perspectives, as she explores the structures shaping society, including how history, culture, and environment influence the ways in which people see, think, and communicate.
Her process is characterized by classification, whether of images, objects, routines, or processes, and she is deeply intrigued by language and its pervasive influence in daily life. Music’s connection to color is another central theme. Nuria is also interested in the materiality of the body and its relationship with the past and future selfs.
Nuria presented a solo public presentation at Kunstwerk Kolderveen in the Netherlands (2024) and has participated in group shows internationally, including Be Alpha (Milan, IT), Culterim (Berlin, DE), and Fondazione Amedeo Modigliani (Venice, IT). Her work is included in private collections in the UK, managed by Artiq (London), and Amazon selected some of her pieces for their Fire Screensaver TV project (2023, 2026). She has completed several international residencies, highlighting Kunstwerk Kolderveen (NL), Duplex AIR (PT), GlogauAir (DE), and Culterim (DE).
